Very good product and deal
Do not know why Metadent is hard to find these days. As mentioned by the other reviewer, it does not come with the holder. I saved a couple of holders from the past supply. Very good product and deal, especially if you use the subscription option to save extra.

No more Tubes
Have been using Metadent for quite awhile. Usually get it at SAMS CLUB, but like a lot of my staples, they stopped carrying it. Waited forever for them to restock but it never happened. Once you switch to this dispenser type you will never go back. Decided to check Amazon as I get my tea and marmite from them. Sure enough they had Metadent. Too many choices of product but finally figured out which one I was using. Bad point is the boxes do not come with the holder. Managed to find a spare holder from past supply so am now happy.

Refill With Pump
There are several places to purchase the refills, Amazon being one of the best. BUT you can also purchase the whole enchilada at [..]. Prices are comparable. As others have said, Mentadent, once you have used it, nothing else compares. I don't understand why it was pulled. My concern is that this product is fresh. Just got off the phone with Church & Dwight Co, Inc., 800-786-5135 customer service and they are still making the product and plan to continue but the guy blamed distributors. He also said that Walmart is carrying their NEW toothpast, same stuff but in one tube (still divided). He suggested Albertsons, Amazon and drugstore.com. Hope this helps someone.

Amazon to the Rescue (again!)
I used to purchase the 12-pack of Mentadent in Sam's Club however they don't carry it anymore. Neither does any of the major retailer chains like Walmart or Target, not even the single dispensers. So once again, I typed this in the search here and voila, I'm back in business! Thanks Amazon! I will add this to my automatic replenishment! This is the third item I've found on Amazon that is no available anywhere else! You guys rule!!!PS: Just in case, get the 6-pack with the dispensers and save them, then if they become unavailable, you can at least order the refills! Great product and the pump dispenser is great, no more "squeeze in the middle" tubes!

Best Delivery System for Toothpaste
I've never really found a great deal of difference in toothpastes in terms of taste or performance (except the weird kids' flavors like watermelon, bubblegum, etc.)The thing that brought me to and has kept me loyal to Mentadent is the delivery system's one-handed operation. You just push down on the top to dispense. I know some other companies now offer push button dispensers, but I've found I needed to pick those up to use. Not the end of the world, I know, but worth noting.Also, I forget if you can or need to recap them, but if so, I believe you have to replace the cap to do so. Mentadent dispensers have an hinged, attached cap, although we don't find any negative effects from just leaving it flipped up.According to my research, at $19.30 (Subscribe and Save) for a pack of 6, I got a pretty good deal. My husband threw away the bottom half of the dispenser, so I couldn't just buy the refills (which I unknowingly did last time--if you're a first...

Hard to find Mentadent
My husband refuses to use anything but Mentadent and it has become increasingly difficult to find in stores. Ordering off Amazon makes life so much easier anyways. The only downside is that pictured are the refill boxes when what was delivered was not refills but each box had a new pump. We like buying the refills (less waste and so on) so I'll be a little more choosey next time.

Mentadent is great. It cleans my teeth well and tastes nice. But the reason I buy it is for the convenience. It is so much easier to dispense than any other toothpaste I have used. I wish every toothpaste came with these dispensers.

It doesn't get better than Mentadent. :o)
I have used Mentadent ever since it came on the market. I always liked the way it was packaged (in a pump, rather than a tube) and liked the flavor of the product. I always thought that it was doing a great job cleaning and protecting my teeth and eliminating tartar, and my feelings were validated when my dentist asked me "How come you don't have any tartar this time??" (I had been using Mentadent for approx. 8 months at that point)I told him what I was using and he just sort of nodded and said "well, something is working!" At my next checkup it was the same story---little to no tartar! He could not believe it and remarked that it was also whitening my teeth---1 shade whiter in about a year of use! (Mentadent contains peroxide)A couple of years ago I added a Sonicare toothbrush to my arsenal and since then my teeth have gotten 2 more shades whiter!I could not be more pleased with Mentadent and I was thrilled to find it on Amazon for such a great price! The right stuff.
Let's face it: we use Mentadent for the convenience. Yes, the actual content is first rate, but not noteably better than other leading brands. But with those other brands, we have to put our toothbrush down, hoping it doesn't roll to one side, while we squeeze our dollop accurately. It's so much easier to have the toothpaste in a stable base to which we hold up our brush. Why have the retail stores stopped carrying it?Note that this package really does have multiple refills, but no base.

Mentadent
My dentist put me on to this toothpaste years ago. My mouth hurts like I ate something I was allergic to after I use any other toothpaste, even the sensitive kind. This is the only one that leaves my mouth free from pain. It is also cheaper in bulk. When the stores in our area stopped carrying this product I tried everything again. The same old problem returned. I was so happy that Amazon had this in bulk!

Very Good Toothpaste
I have been using this product for years. It mixes a paste and a gel by using a dispenser that pushes out the two parts onto your toothbrush. When you first start a new tube, there is a slight problem. Since the density of the paste and gel are not the same, for the first 2-3 applications you only get the paste product until the two mixtures balance out. The product is excellent and has a very pleasant taste. It is convenient and does not make a mess. I will continue using this toothpaste as long as it is available.
