Excellent Replacement Handle
A couple of years ago Braun charged $100 for a new handle. Since then, they've apparently wised up. They now charge more for the brushes and less for the handles. That's okay with me -- I only replace the brush about once in 6 months, so the $6 price doesn't seem too bad. (I did some research on the Medline medical database about this -- yes, you need to replace brushes, but not as often as Braun says.)The handle is a bit bigger and heavier than the one it replaced and it's bright blue instead of muted gray. It seems a little more powerful, and it feels different in the hand, but you get used to it quickly. (It's the same height as the old one, it's slightly wider, so it doesn't fit the original travel case.)Tip: to keep your handle clean and free of mold, rinse and DRY it after every use. Yes, it's a pain, but otherwise you get little bits of black mold on the rubber part of your handle. That's what did my old one in.Overall, I'm very pleased with... Top to learn more

For the past seven years or so, have used Braun 3D Excel electric toothbrush. Finally, it started to fail recently. Decided to buy new one. Could not find it. Eventually found this - since I was convinced it was the "handle" that was failing, took a chance and bought this. I was in luck. I love this toothbrush!
I honestly love this toothbrush, it gets my teeth cleaner than a regular toothbrush, and also helped to remove an old stain that I had on my teeth for years. I love the three modes, the first one is regular cleaning, the second is for gentle cleaning, and the third is a polisher. My teeth look so white and healthy after using this brush, I don't think I will ever use a manual toothbrush again. After the first time I used it there was a noticeable difference with my teeth. I am a smoker and love coffee, and I am allergic to peroxide, so my teeth didn't look very white, and I had to be careful what kind of toothpaste I used because only the good toothpastes that worked had peroxide in them, with the Braun 3D brush my teeth look as healthy as they feel. I get compliments on my smile, and people even ask me what I use now on my teeth!

great toothbrush for the price
I needed a new toothbrush and couldn't decide between this one, the or . I decided on this one because it was about the same price as the 1000 model but had 3 brush speeds. The 1000 model only had one speed. What I couldn't tell from the description on the page at the time I ordered was how many cleaning heads came in the box. The description talked about the 4 different types but only the precision clean head brush was included. It states that on the box I received. More would have been nice but the price was still good with just one brush head...

Braun Series 7 vs. Panasonic ES-LA63 vs Norelco SensoTouch 3D
I've accumulated quite a few electric razors over the years, with the three most recent being the new models from Norelco, Braun and Panasonic. So, thought I'd do a comparison to perhaps help those who are debating between these high-end models.But first let's get a basic question out of the way: do you have to spend this much to get a good shave from an electric shaver? Absolutely not. Lower-end models such as the Braun Series 5, the 7000 and 8000 Norelco series and the Panasonic ArcIV are great shavers. What you get for the extra money is a slight improvement in the shave, a bit better design, and a few somewhat useful bells and whistles.Build quality - all are very nicely put together. The Braun feels the most substantial; the 3D feels the most "plasticy."Sound - the 3D runs very quietly; the Braun and Panasonic are far more "buzzy" but not too loud.Overall feel - for me, the Braun feels the most comfortable to hold. First shave out of box, stunning results!
I've had a top of the line Braun 8000 series (8595) for about 6+ years. It just started to fail recently - I didn't feel like trying another replacement foil/blade and after over 2,000 shaves - I guess it's hard to complain. If this new one lasts the same duration, then it will be well worth the money for just over $0.12 per day plus consumables (cleaning solution & replacement foils).I opened this new shaver morning (790-CC4), charged it, and started using it. I like the variable setting (3-steps) for mild to intense. I like the feel of it and although the display is less sophisticated than my old one, this one might be more practical in usage. It has a Li-Ion battery and so is a bit lighter, and seems well-constructed.The real test is the shave - and this is the best result I've ever had from shaving with an electric. On rare occasions I'll use a blade for a special occasion and a blade is usually much closer than most electrics - but I've been okay... Top to learn more

How often do I need to exchange the Clean & Renew™ Refill Cartridge? It is recommended that you change your Clean & Renew refill cartridge at least once every two months or when the Clean & Renew system notifies you that the cleaning solution is ready to be changed. This will vary depending on how often the system is in use.
Do you have any recommendations for how to shave with an electric foil shaver? We recommend that you shave before taking a shower. After a few days without shaving (for example, the first shave after the weekend), you should trim your stubble before you shave. Stretch the skin and shave against the direction of beard growth.
